Purpose and Duties of SCOAR

 

  • SCOAR is the primary team responsible for connecting with students.
  • SCOAR is tasked with improving student retention (persistence).
  • SCOAR is tasked with writing the Student Support Services Standard of WASC Self-Study Reports
  • SCOAR is tasked with writing, and implementing most of the "Enhance Counseling Services and Improve Student Persistence" portion of the School-Wide Action Plan.

 

Membership of SCOAR

 Desired Membership

  • All Counselors and Counseling Staff
  • At least 1 front office person from each campus
  • At least 1 database user
  • At least 1 instructor from each department
  • At least 1 student
  • At least 1 custodian
  • TRAS Administrator in charge of classified personnel

Open Membership

  • Any TRAS Stakeholder (Student, Staff, etc.)
