Student Connectedness thru Orientation, Assessment & Retention
Purpose and Duties of SCOAR
- SCOAR is the primary team responsible for connecting with students.
- SCOAR is tasked with improving student retention (persistence).
- SCOAR is tasked with writing the Student Support Services Standard of WASC Self-Study Reports
- SCOAR is tasked with writing, and implementing most of the "Enhance Counseling Services and Improve Student Persistence" portion of the School-Wide Action Plan.
Membership of SCOAR
Desired Membership - All Counselors and Counseling Staff
- At least 1 front office person from each campus
- At least 1 database user
- At least 1 instructor from each department
- At least 1 student
- At least 1 custodian
- TRAS Administrator in charge of classified personnel
Open Membership - Any TRAS Stakeholder (Student, Staff, etc.)
